A little update

 The past few months have flown by so quickly, and time seems to have slipped through my fingers. Between daily responsibilities and new challenges, I haven’t been able to spend as many hours sewing as I would have liked. The fabrics are waiting patiently, ideas keep piling up, and there’s no shortage of projects in my mind.

But if the needle has been resting a bit, it’s for a good reason. Behind the scenes, a big project is taking shape. It’s something that requires a lot of energy, thought, and preparation, but it’s very close to my heart. I’ve been working on it for a while now, and I can’t wait to finally share it.

Just a little more patience… The reveal is coming soon, and I hope you’ll love it as much as I’ve loved creating it.

Sewing My Winter Test Dress: Exploring the Fit, Fabric, and Finishing Touches

This project began as a simple test dress intended to check the fit of a new pattern. The goal was to evaluate the pattern before cutting into the final fabric. However, as soon as I started sewing, I realized that the warmth and texture of the fabric made it perfect for winter. What was meant to be just a trial version quickly turned into a wearable garment that I will proudly keep in my wardrobe. 1. Choosing the Fabric and Preparing the Pattern For this test, I chose a medium-weight flannel —soft, warm, and easy to work with. It was not my final fabric choice for this design, but it proved to be ideal for a comfortable and cozy winter dress . After tracing the pattern, I cut out the main pieces, making sure to carefully mark all the notches and seam allowances . This step is essential to ensure accuracy when assembling the garment. 2. Comfort Reimagined: Warmth, Softness, and Puff Sleeves

The cotton, a natural and breathable material, gently embraces the body while allowing the skin to breathe freely. Its supple, lightweight texture creates a soothing sense of warmth, ideal for transitional seasons. The flared cut plays a key role in this pursuit of ease. It frees movement, follows the body without constraint, and offers a fluidity that evokes the lightness of air. Combined with the puff sleeves, it shapes a silhouette that is both soft and confident, where volume becomes a symbol of comfort and self-expression. The yellow nettle band, hand-dyed, brightens the piece with a vibrant touch. This artisanal gesture, born from the desire to find the perfect shade, gives the garment a unique and personal dimension.
